On the Road to Alpha Centari
I stopped for a pint at the brew'ry
Much to my dismay
I was forced to stay
Among men and all their tom-fool'ry

Now you must understand,
It's uncommon for a Q of my brand,
To consort with mortals like these,
But I wanted some fun,
So I let their mouths run,
About their tawdry abilities.

"I need but one eye,"
Said a man most sly,
"To spot a crow a mile away!
And a single palm will do,
When snapping in two,
A man who stands in my way."

"For you see," he blathered on
"I am perfect and strong
And more powerful than any of you know
I challenge any here
To belittle or jeer
For its only the truth I would show."

When no one would rise,
I narrowed my eyes,
And let my mouth form a curl.
For I know of one,
Who could make him undone,
And send his head for a whirl.

"Forgive me, my friend,
I think it unwise to bed,
The honorable thing called truth.
For you see," said I,
"I am more powerful and wise
Than someone of your incalculable youth."

"Prove it," said the man
With so strong a hand.
"Prove you can do better than me
For I have slain ten
Much mightier men
Than you appear to be."

"Only ten have you slain?"
Barely containing distain
"I can do better than that.
I can give life to men,
And take it back again,
With a flick of my wrist and a snap."

"I can even transform,"
I said with a scorn,
"You to a Betozoid flea."
And I did just that,
With only a snap
An insect I made he.

For the rest of the crowd,
I spoke very loud.
"Let this be a warning to all.
If you challenge a Q,
I assure you,
On the ground he'll make you crawl."
